Bird Photos: The Most Colorful Ones

I took these Photos of Rainbow Lorikeets in Sydney Australia on my recent trip. The couple were wild birds that visited my friends railing every day.

The photos were taken with a Canon 60D and 70-200mm f/2.8L lens (the close shot was at 200mm). For bird photos you want to use above a 100mm and in most cases 300mm and above. Somewhat tame birds are the exception to 300mm and above. I would have had trouble fitting their heads in the frame at 300mm 🙂

You may have noticed the new Pinterest “Pin it” button ABOVE my posts lately. If you are on Pinterest please share any of my posts on your board. Click the button then choose an Image to Share – Sometimes you will get image choices that look the same – choose the one that is bigger (like 400 x 600 not 40 x 20). Thanks!
